DESCRIPTION:<a href="https://www.al-mangroves.com/event/henna-hibiscus-dyei
 ng-workshop-57">Henna &amp\; Hibiscus Dyeing Workshop</a>\nAbout the Works
hop Henna and hibiscus have long been used as natural colorants across dif
ferent cultures\, valued for their rich tones and organic variation. When
applied to paper\, these dyes create expressive surfaces that respond uniq
uely to writing and drawing materials. This workshop introduces participan
ts to the preparation and use of henna and hibiscus dyes\, situating the p
ractice within its material and cultural context before moving into hands-
on application. The Learning Experience The session begins with a guided i
ntroduction and live demonstration of how henna and hibiscus dyes are prep
ared\, including discussion of their properties and behavior on paper. Par
ticipants will then make their own dyes using the ingredients provided\, w
orking at a measured pace that allows for experimentation and observation.
Emphasis is placed on understanding how natural dyes interact with paper
surfaces and how they can be prepared for writing. No prior experience is
required. What You Will Make and Take Home Each participant will prepare s
mall batches of henna and hibiscus dye and apply them to paper in preparat
ion for writing. Participants will take home their dyed paper and any rema
ining dye created during the workshop. IngredientsHenna.Hibiscus.
