Modern Calligraphy Art Workshop

Workshop Description
- Each workshop consists of six series, with each one lasting one month.
- Each workshop consists of 12 sessions, each session lasting 2 hours.
- Participants are able to practice the new skills they learn from each class by booking a practice session at their convenience. Practice sessions are not mandatory, it is encouraged and to provide extra support for participants.
Workshop Agenda
Tools, canvas preparation, Calligraphy style
Introduction to learning to use the required tools and preparation of canvas. Learning to create various canvas surfaces before implementation of artwork.
Styles of common calligraphy
More advanced learning of calligraphy styles such as thuluth and kufi and knowledge acquisition of geometric pattern and spacing between letters.
Computer software
Teaching softwares to create graphical models and design patterns such as Photoshop and Corel Draw.
Style and calligraphy
Learning about the schools of calligraphy. Understanding symmetry and geometry of letters and spacing between letters. Learning how to merge cubism and calligraphy.
Texture
Recognizing and implementing various colored and volumetric textures on canvas surfaces.
Shading and execution
Implementation of various shading and highlighting techniques to combine overlapping letters and patterns.
