Workshop Description

  • Each workshop consists of six series, with each one lasting one month.
  • Each workshop consists of 12 sessions, each session lasting 2 hours.
  • Participants are able to practice the new skills they learn from each class by booking a practice session at their convenience. Practice sessions are not mandatory, it is encouraged and to provide extra support for participants.

  • Learning how to use different materials.

  • Introduction to insulators and material to separate the clay from its mold.
  • Creating models.
  • Creating mixed material. 
  • Crafting & creating molds.

  • Creating emblems.
  • Creating more complex structures. 
  • Introduction to glazing material and tools.
  • Introduction to different types of pigmentation with metallic oxides and paints and enamels.
  • Learning how to apply different glazing and enamel finishes such as dull, shiny, fractured, contraction, stained, and mixed.
  • How to set up a kiln and learn the ideal temperature to prepare the clay work.

  • Introduction to different types of clay.
  • Learning how to use the wheel.
  • Compressing and massaging the clay to prevent bubble formation.
  • Learning to make basic structures.
  • Lathing and finishing clay body.
  • Creating multi-structure clay works on the wheel.
  • Creating double glaze, connecting, and lid clay structures.
  • Creating multi-structure clay works on the wheel.

  • How to set up a kiln and learn the ideal temperature to prepare the clay work.
