Workshop Description
- Each workshop consists of six series, with each one lasting one month.
- Each workshop consists of 12 sessions, each session lasting 2 hours.
- Participants are able to practice the new skills they learn from each class by booking a practice session at their convenience. Practice sessions are not mandatory, it is encouraged and to provide extra support for participants.
Workshop Agenda
Teaching the basics of gilding
- Teaching basic patterns in ornamentation and arabesque geometric designs. Application of gilding of gold sheets on paper.
- Teaching basic patterns in ornamentation and arabesque geometric designs. Application of gilding of gold sheets on paper.
Introducing tools and equipment used in gilding
- Introduction to use of various artistic tools to create more sophisticated geometric pattern
Preparation of design on different surfaces
- Learning attaching and combination techniques of different designs and patterns
Design and preparation of the gilded panel
- Learning more sophisticated patterns in ornamentation and arabesque geometric designs. Learning techniques to design patterns on gilded sheets.
Gold grinding training / Mathematics and geometric design
- Introducing different types of gilding on different surfaces.
- Use of mathematics to create accurate symmetric complex designs
